The Forensic Physics & Ballistics Online Internship program by SIFS India aims to provide you with an in-depth understanding of the interconnections between physics, firearms, and forensic investigation. You will learn how to apply scientific principles to examine physical evidence related to firearms and projectiles and contribute to crime solving as a forensic physicist and ballistics expert.

In this online internship, you will learn about the evolution of ballistics and physics in criminal investigations, firearm classification and safety, examining bullets and cartridge cases, the type of weapon used, calculating firing distance, forensic physics laws, evidence collection and interpretation, analyzing injuries, toolmark examination, analysis of trajectories, event reconstruction methods, and the associated legal framework.

You will be awarded an industry-recognized certificate upon successfully completing the internship and will have enough knowledge to assist law enforcement agencies in solving ballistics-related crimes and providing scientifically robust evidence in legal proceedings.

All of the sessions are conducted on the Zoom platform in accordance with Indian Standard Time (IST).

Our Lab-Based internships are immersive, on-site programs where you work directly with physical evidence and high-end laboratory equipment at our facility. The Online Internship focuses on digital forensics, case study analysis, and theoretical mastery through virtual simulations. Both tracks provide a verified certificate, but the Lab-Based track is recommended for those seeking hands-on experience with physical investigative tools.

While most of our programs require a basic understanding of science or law, we have specific foundational internships (like Digital Forensics) that are open to students from various backgrounds. We evaluate each applicant based on their interest and prior certifications. Please mention your specific background in the enquiry form for a personalized eligibility check.

Stipends are performance-based and are typically discussed during the final interview stage. Regarding credits, SIFS India is a recognized forensic organization; we provide all necessary documentation and completion reports required by universities to validate your internship for academic credit.
